About this Role
Job Summary
Join our team as a Smart Systems Technician, where you’ll play a pivotal role in deploying, synchronizing, and troubleshooting smart home ecosystems and IoT devices. This specialized opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in networking and home tech, ensuring seamless experiences for clients in cutting-edge connected environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install and pair a variety of smart home devices, including cameras, thermostats, lighting systems, and security sensors. Configure home networks and Wi-Fi extenders to optimize device connectivity and system reliability. Update firmware, manage device settings, and facilitate integrations across multiple platforms such as Alexa and Google Home. Diagnose and resolve connectivity or operational issues related to smart home ecosystems. Guide clients through smart home interfaces, ensuring they are empowered and comfortable managing their devices. Maintain meticulous attention to detail in device placement, cable management, and overall installation aesthetics. Utilize field service applications to document work, report issues, and complete service logs efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency with mobile apps for device management and field service operations. Solid understanding of home networking concepts (IP addresses, SSIDs, routers, Wi-Fi extenders). Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting a range of IoT devices and smart home technology. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, especially regarding software updates and connectivity glitches. Superb verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex concepts for non-technical users. High attention to detail, especially in physical installations and cable management for an aesthetically pleasing result.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing remote support or guidance for smart home installations. Familiarity with the latest smart home platforms and voice assistant technologies. Certifications in networking or smart home systems are a plus.
