Note: This is a flexible, part-time opportunity that is 5-20 hours per week at $100 per hour (up to $2k/week). It can be done remotely and can be done both alongside or instead of full-time employment.
We're working with a leading foundational AI lab to find experienced accountants and auditors who can help train their latest language model on accounting and audit tasks.
We're looking for senior professionals with 5+ years at top accounting firms or large corporates to create, evaluate, and refine AI-generated work across core accounting workflows: financial statement preparation, audit documentation, internal controls assessment, reconciliations, GAAP and IFRS technical memos, and management reporting.
Compensation: $100/hour
Commitment: Flexible, up to 20 hours per week (up to $2k/week)
Location: Fully remote, work on your own schedule
Start date: April
Qualifications:
CPA or equivalent with 5+ years at a Big Four firm or top corporate finance team
Strong expertise in financial reporting, audit methodology, and accounting standards
Excellent written communication and attention to detail

Do I need to constantly apply for projects?
No. Once your profile is live, Ethos's AI automatically matches you to inbound opportunities based on your career history. Companies find you — you don't hunt for listings. Your Expert Score rises with each completed engagement, which unlocks higher-value inbound over time. Ethos already works with 25+ private equity firms, hedge funds, and consultancies, so deal flow is real.
When and how do I get paid?
Payment is processed within 30 days of submitting your invoice after a project closes. This net-30 schedule is standard for enterprise expert networks but slower than weekly-paying AI platforms. Plan your cash flow accordingly — this is not a 'get paid Friday' setup.
Is this traditional consulting?
Not exactly. You act as a "Teacher" for advanced AI. Instead of client deliverables, you are given complex scenarios to evaluate. You grade the AI's logic, correct its hallucinations, and provide expert-level reasoning. Your job is to train the model to think like you do.
