What you'll do

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in manufacturing and engineering. As a Manufacturing & Engineering Expert, you'll design realistic, end-to-end engineering workflows that today's best models still struggle with, then grade how agents handle them. Expect to build scenarios across process and operations engineering (process flow docs, SOPs, yield and quality analysis, root cause analysis, Lean and Six Sigma writeups), supply chain and planning (demand forecasting, inventory analysis, supplier scorecards, S&OP materials, logistics exception handling), mechanical and industrial engineering (CAD modeling and drawing review, BOM maintenance, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA reviews, ECOs), and quality and compliance (non-conformance reports, CAPA documentation, audit prep for ISO and FDA, inspection and test protocols). These scenarios will be challenging and take long sessions of focus.

Who we're looking for BS or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering; 3+ years in process, supply chain, mechanical design, or quality roles Working fluency in at least two of: CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion, Creo), GD&T, manufacturing processes (machining, injection, sheet metal, additive), Lean / Six Sigma, S&OP, quality systems (ISO, FDA) Comfortable reading and producing engineering artifacts: drawings, BOMs, process flows, FMEA, CAPA, inspection protocols Clear written communication; able to articulate reasoning and decisions step by step Drawn to long-horizon, challenging problem sets rather than one-off microtasks Compensation $70–$110/hr depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors are promoted based on task quality and throughput. • BS or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering; 3+ years in process, supply chain, mechanical design, or quality roles
