About this Role
Job Summary
Join our customer's team as an expert Accountant and play a pivotal role in advancing the next generation of AI-powered tax solutions. You will leverage your expertise in US tax regulations to review and enhance AI-generated translations of US tax statutes, ensuring accuracy and clarity for AI training initiatives. This is a unique opportunity for Chartered Accountants (CA), Certified Public Accountants (CPA), tax attorneys, and enrolled agents to influence leading-edge technology while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret original US tax laws, statutes, and IRS regulations. Review AI-produced plain-English translations to ensure alignment with the source legal logic and terminology. Approve high-quality translations or provide directive feedback to address inaccuracies and ambiguities. Develop and review comprehensive test scenarios, including edge cases, to verify translation accuracy and robustness. Collaborate within a digital review interface, submitting detailed, structured written evaluations. Identify, analyze, and communicate discrepancies, exceptions, and statutory nuances within tax law translations. Contribute to iterative improvements in AI training data quality by applying tax expertise and logical reasoning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Active CPA license, Chartered Accountant designation, or significant experience as a US tax attorney or enrolled agent. Proven expertise in reading and interpreting US statutes, IRS regulations, and legal tax frameworks. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on clarity and precision. Demonstrated comfort in providing structured feedback through digital review platforms or user interfaces. Experience working with complex legal concepts: conditions, thresholds, AND/OR logic, exceptions, and defined terms. High attention to detail and a logical, analytical approach to problem-solving. Previous involvement in reviewing or drafting legal or regulatory documents, not just return preparation.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience reviewing or validating AI or technology-driven tax content. Background in training teams or providing written feedback on legal/tax language. Interest in the intersection of technology and legal/tax compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the others?
Global Access. Micro1 is more open to international applicants (outside the US/UK) than DataAnnotation or Outlier.
What is the catch?
Privacy. Micro1 projects often require you to install time-tracking software that takes screenshots of your desktop while you work to ensure you are actually working. If you are uncomfortable with monitoring software, this might not be for you.
What does the work actually look like?
It is practical, hands-on data work. You might be recording short videos, categorizing images, rating text responses, or analyzing data. The tasks are designed to be short and distinct—typically 5-60 minutes per task.
How flexible is the schedule?
Extremely. This is true "log in and work" flexibility. You can usually work for 20 minutes or 4 hours depending on your availability. There are rarely minimum hour requirements, making it ideal for side income.
Is there an interview?
Usually, no. Hiring for these roles is almost entirely based on passing an automated assessment or "qualification" task. If you pass the test, you get access to the work.
What is the interview like?
You will likely be screened by "Zara", an AI recruiter. Treat this like a real video interview—speak clearly, ensure you have good lighting, and be ready to answer technical questions verbally, as the transcript is reviewed by human managers.
