About this Role
Job Summary
Our customer’s team is seeking an expert in Ubuntu to review, audit, and enhance AI-generated technical guidance for robust infrastructure environments. This pivotal role blends hands-on review with strategic systems administration, leveraging your deep experience in DevOps, cloud architecture, and automation to ensure excellence in every aspect of Ubuntu system management.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth audits of AI-generated instructions for server hardening, kernel tuning, and UFW firewall configuration, ensuring best practices are followed. Evaluate the accuracy and security of AI recommendations regarding APT, Snap, and PPA package management workflows. Scrutinize AI-produced Bash scripts for logic errors, security vulnerabilities, and compliance with Ubuntu-specific directory and scripting standards. Assess and refine AI-led environment setup guidance, covering LAMP/LEMP stacks and systemd service configuration. Contribute to the development of standardized, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using Ubuntu. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating clearly and proactively to resolve issues and improve processes. Document findings and propose improvements, emphasizing clarity in both written and verbal communication.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Expert-level mastery of the Linux command line interface and shell scripting, with special focus on Ubuntu environments. Comprehensive understanding of systems security, including user permissions, SSH configuration, and access controls. Demonstrated experience in infrastructure monitoring tools (htop, journalctl) and advanced log analysis. Proven track record in system automation and cloud-based architecture design and management. Strong familiarity with managing differences between Ubuntu LTS and interim releases. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences. Background as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Cloud Architect.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with AI-generated technical outputs or tools. Certifications in Ubuntu, Linux, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Contributions to open-source Ubuntu or Linux community projects.
