Job Summary: As a Financial Data Privacy Analyst, you will protect sensitive information by identifying, managing, and mitigating risks related to PII in documents and systems. Leveraging your domain expertise. No prior AI experience required. Key Responsibilities
Identify, analyze, and address risks related to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in financial documents and digital systems. Apply advanced knowledge of global data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA to ensure strict compliance in all data handling practices. Review and redact sensitive financial documents, including Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), financial statements, and contracts, leveraging industry-standard privacy and redaction tools. Evaluate document content for indirect identifiersârecognizing that PII can reside beyond the obvious, such as in proprietary processes or unique reconciliation protocols. Provide expert recommendations to enhance data privacy controls within the customerâs finance and corporate environments. Support incident response and risk mitigation strategies pertaining to data breaches or policy violations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 2 yearsâ hands-on experience with PII compliance in finance or corporate settings. Comprehensive understanding of data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA) and their application to financial data. Demonstrated expertise in sensitive document handling and redaction tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex privacy requirements into actionable practices for the customer's team. Experience managing workflows and protocols that involve confidential information within financial systems. Attention to detail and an investigative mindset for identifying non-obvious PII within documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in finance, auditing, or compliance roles within regulated industries. Familiarity with privacy tools and solutions for automating PII detection and redaction in bulk document processing. Certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent) is a plus.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the others?
Global Access. Micro1 is more open to international applicants (outside the US/UK) than DataAnnotation or Outlier.
What is the catch?
Privacy. Micro1 projects often require you to install time-tracking software that takes screenshots of your desktop while you work to ensure you are actually working. If you are uncomfortable with monitoring software, this might not be for you.
Is this traditional consulting?
Not exactly. You act as a "Teacher" for advanced AI. Instead of client deliverables, you are given complex scenarios to evaluate. You grade the AI's logic, correct its hallucinations, and provide expert-level reasoning. Your job is to train the model to think like you do.
Why is the pay so high?
This role requires deep, verified expertise. General knowledge isn't enough; the model is specifically being trained on "edge cases"âthe rare, difficult, or highly technical nuances that only a senior professional would know.
What is the workload like?
This is cognitive, deep work. Unlike simple data labeling, you might spend 45-60 minutes on a single task, researching citations or verifying complex calculations. Quality is prioritized over speed.
What is the interview like?
You will likely be screened by "Zara", an AI recruiter. Treat this like a real video interviewâspeak clearly, ensure you have good lighting, and be ready to answer technical questions verbally, as the transcript is reviewed by human managers.
