Job Summary
Join our customer's team as a 3D Slicer Expert and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of medical imaging, surgical planning, and clinical research workflows. You will be instrumental in showcasing the real-world, end-to-end application of 3D Slicer, teaching AI to understand the nuanced decision-making and clinical reasoning behind every step of the process.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the complete lifecycle of 3D Slicer projects, from importing raw imaging data to delivering final processed outputs. Perform DICOM import, image segmentation, structure delineation, and advanced 3D reconstructions using 3D Slicer modules and extensions. Execute image registration, quantitative analyses, and troubleshooting within the 3D Slicer environment. Document and clearly explain your workflow, clinical rationale, and technical decisions both verbally and in detailed written form. Collaborate remotely with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with best practices in radiology, neuroscience, or biomedical engineering. Contribute domain expertise to help AI systems learn how expert users operate and think while using 3D Slicer. Identify and resolve software challenges, ensuring smooth end-to-end project delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated, professional expertise in 3D Slicer with proven experience managing entire projects from raw data to final output. Strong background in medical imaging, radiology, neuroscience, surgical planning, or a related discipline. In-depth experience with DICOM workflows, segmentation, registration, and 3D visualization in a clinical or research setting. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain workflow decisions and clinical reasoning clearly. Hands-on familiarity with a range of 3D Slicer modules, extensions, and troubleshooting techniques. Evidence of completing end-to-end projects independently while maintaining high quality standards. Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with diverse technical and clinical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in biomedical engineering, medical physics, neuroscience, or related field. Previous contributions to 3D Slicer documentation, training, or community forums. Experience integrating AI or machine learning into medical imaging or surgical planning workflows.
