Job Summary
Join our customer's team as a Geological Technician Expert - AI Trainer and play a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge AI models within the geosciences sector. Harness your expertise to help shape intelligent systems, drawing on your hands-on field and laboratory experience, while collaborating remotely with a passionate, innovative group.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to guide the development of AI solutions for geological data analysis and interpretation. Utilize and instruct on the use of electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments across laboratory, exploration, and production environments to obtain resource data (metallic ore, minerals, gas, coal, petroleum). Review, annotate, and provide expert feedback on datasets, sample analyses, and operational records to train AI systems with industry-relevant accuracy. Prepare comprehensive notes, sketches, geological maps, and cross-sections to support data modeling and machine learning initiatives. Analyze mud and drill cuttings, as well as chart pressure, temperature, and other well or borehole characteristics, to inform intelligent automation. Compile, log, and organize testing or operational data for further review, analysis, and AI training purposes. Actively participate in virtual surveys and exploratory project meetings, sharing insights and best practices with both technical and non-technical teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a Geological Technician or related role (Core Inspector, Geotechnician, Geological E-Logger, etc.). Advanced knowledge in handling laboratory apparatus, electronic measuring equipment, and geological testing protocols. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to clarity and teamwork in a remote setting. Track record of compiling, logging, and interpreting geological data with high attention to detail and accuracy. Experience preparing sketches, geological maps, and technical cross-sections. Demonstrated ability to assist with geological, geophysical, geochemical, or oceanographic surveys and exploratory drilling programs. Passion for advancing AI technology through precise data labeling, annotation, and knowledge sharing.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience training AI or machine learning models in a technical or scientific environment. Background in environmental sampling or materials testing. Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used for remote collaboration and dataset management.
