What to Expect

French language evaluation tasks cover the linguistic complexity of French across its major regional varieties: European French (Parisian standard, regional accents), Canadian French (Québécois, significant vocabulary and grammar divergence), Belgian French, and Swiss French. Tasks specify the target variety, so dialect awareness is important. Common evaluation areas include subjunctive selection, gender agreement in complex noun phrases, ne-dropping in informal speech, and the choice between passé composé and imparfait. You'll also assess whether AI captures the formality continuum correctly, French has a wider register range than English and AI often defaults to inappropriately formal expression. Audio tasks involve recording in authentic regional accents. Native speaker or C2-level fluency is required.
