What to Expect
Arabic language evaluation tasks address the complex diglossia of Arabic—the gap between Modern Standard Arabic (MSA, used in formal writing and media) and the spoken regional dialects (Egyptian, Gulf/Khaleeji, Levantine, Moroccan Darija, and others). Tasks always specify whether MSA or a specific dialect is required. MSA tasks evaluate grammatical accuracy in the classical case system, correct verb conjugation, and dual forms. Dialect tasks assess authentic regional vocabulary, grammar (dialects have simplified the classical system in different ways), and cultural references. AI Arabic frequently produces MSA when a dialect is needed, or mixes dialect features inappropriately. Audio tasks involve recording in the specified variety. Native speaker or C2-level fluency in both MSA and at least one dialect is strongly preferred.
