About this role

From the Claru listing

As a Hospitality Capture contributor, you record first-person video inside hotels (check-in, room navigation, amenities), gyms (equipment use, locker rooms, classes), salons, dental offices, and similar service environments. The data trains AI systems used in concierge tools, equipment-use detection, and customer-experience analytics.

Scenes are short and specific — checking into a hotel room, completing a gym circuit, sitting in a salon chair. A typical session is 20–45 minutes, often during normal use of the service.

This works particularly well for frequent travelers and gym regulars.

This variant is open to contributors across Asia — India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Pay is $5/hour USD, fixed flat rate, paid via international transfer (Wise, Payoneer, or local equivalent) on a bi-weekly cadence. We're actively building a contributor base across these markets and onboarding is fast.

Claru contractors are independent — no fixed hours, no minimum commitment. You take captures that fit your schedule and skip the ones that don't.

Common questions

What counts as a usable capture for hospitality work?

You film hotel check-in and room navigation, gym equipment and circuits, salons and dental offices, recorded first-person with a phone on a head mount. On this category a typical session is 20 to 45 minutes, usually while you are using the service anyway. Claru records at 1080p in landscape with the camera at its widest zoom, angled slightly down so your hands stay in frame for most of the clip, and asks you to work normally without narrating or staging anything. The footage trains concierge tools, equipment-use detection and customer-experience models.

Why does this listing pay $5/hr?

Claru prices capture work by market rather than by skill, and this variant is open to contributors in India, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. The published tiers run $5/hr across its Asian markets, $6-$7 across LATAM, $10 in Canada and $15 in the United States, for the same filming spec. Applying to a higher-paying variant from outside its listed countries will not get you that rate, so apply to the one matching where you live.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

No. Claru engages capture contributors as independent contractors with no fixed hours and no minimum commitment, so you take the captures that fit your week and skip the rest. US contributors typically run two to four captures a week.

Do I need filming or acting experience?

No. Claru wants ordinary, unstaged footage of tasks you were doing anyway, which is why it asks you not to narrate or perform for the camera. The requirement that matters is access to the setting being filmed, along with the phone and mount.

What does asynchronous AI training work mean in practice?

No set hours, no check-ins, no meetings. You log in when you want, pick up an available task, complete it, and submit; nobody is waiting on you in real time. That's different from remote employment, where you're expected online during business hours. The tradeoff: you're competing with others for available tasks, so an empty queue means there's simply nothing to do until more work is released.

Do task-based AI training roles require an interview?

Most skip a live interview entirely and gate access through an automated assessment or qualification task instead. Where we've confirmed the specific requirement for this listing, it's called out above in What We Know About This Role.

What does Business work look like for a Hospitality (Hotel, Gym, Salon) Video Capture — Asia?

Tasks here are scoped to Business, not generic labeling. As a Hospitality (Hotel, Gym, Salon) Video Capture — Asia, expect to draw on real domain judgment (evaluating outputs, correcting errors, or providing expert reasoning specific to Business) rather than following a one-size-fits-all rubric. If you don't have hands-on Business background, this is likely not the right listing to start with.

What specific skills does this listing call for?

AI Training is named directly in the listing. If you don't have hands-on experience with this, expect the screening process to test for it directly rather than accepting adjacent experience as a substitute.

How much does this specific role pay?

This listing is posted at $5/hr, an hourly rate. Pay can change between when we last checked the listing and when you apply, so confirm the current number on the platform's own application page before committing time.

What happens when I click Apply on this listing?

You'll be taken to Claru's external site to complete your application there. This listing links through a referral, but the process is identical to applying directly; the link just routes you correctly. Create an account on their site and follow their onboarding steps.

Can I apply from outside IN, PH, ID and 1 other country?

This specific role is open only to people based in IN, PH, ID, and VN. If you are somewhere else, applying is unlikely to lead to an offer even if you pass the assessment, because the restriction is usually about where the work can legally be contracted rather than your skills. Read the full description for any tax-residency or right-to-work caveats before you apply, since they can differ by country.

Who is behind Claru?

Claru is the contributor-facing brand of Reka AI, which collects human data for frontier AI labs across text, vision, video and robotics. Its board splits into regional video capture work and desk-based annotation and evaluation, and the apply link on this page is an affiliate link that does not change your pay or what you are offered.
