What to Expect

PhD-level roles require and reward deep scholarly expertise. You'll evaluate AI outputs in research-grade academic contexts: assessing whether AI literature reviews accurately represent the state of a field, whether experimental design recommendations are methodologically sound, whether AI-generated research summaries correctly characterize findings and limitations, and whether academic writing meets the standards of peer-reviewed publication. Tasks across all academic disciplines are available—from humanities close reading to scientific methodology evaluation. The work assumes you can engage critically with primary research and identify when AI produces superficially plausible but substantively incorrect scholarly content. Active researchers, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty are the primary workforce, though independent researchers with demonstrable scholarly expertise also qualify. Compensation reflects the doctoral-level training required.
