Sell to AI labs
Sell private code, data or a closed company's records to AI labs
AI labs pay for things most people assume are worthless: a side project's private repo, a dataset built for one client, the Slack and GitHub of a startup that shut down. Register what you own once. We show you the buyers that take it and tell you plainly what sells and what does not.
What labs are buying right now
Private code repositories
Repos you own outright with real history. Commit density, tickets and design docs are what price it.
Datasets
Labelled data, logs and corpora you built, with rights you can prove. Mostly sold non-exclusively.
Tasksets and RL environments
Environments, evals and tasksets, built already or produced to order for a lab.
A company that closed
The whole workspace: repos, Slack, email, tickets, wikis, finance. Several buyers want it together.
Run a company that is still trading? The company-side page covers workflow and operations data.
What sells, and what does not
Most individual repos do not sell. DataVendor's own guidance says only a small share of codebases find a buyer. The ones that do look like production software: years of commits from more than one person, issues and tickets alongside the code, design docs, tests, deploy history. A weekend project with 40 commits will not move.
Closed companies are the strongest supply. Turing, Mercor, DataVendor and Troveo all name shut-down or winding-down companies as sellers they want, because the record is complete and nobody is still using it. Peak headcount counts as much as the headcount at the end.
Public open-source has little value because labs already have it, so only private work is worth registering.
Rights decide everything. You must own it outright or hold written permission from every contributor. Employees cannot sell employer code or data. Anything with customer or employee personal data is the buyer's anonymisation problem, and they will ask about it.
How it works
- Register what you own. Tick the asset types, say whether you are an individual, a live company or one that closed, and optionally which tools held the history. Two minutes, no files.
- See your buyers. The result page ranks every buyer that takes your profile, with one plain line on what to expect from each. Some are instant links, one is an invite we email after a quick look, one needs your say-so before we pass your name on.
- Deal directly. The buyer reviews, prices and pays you. We are not in that conversation and never hold the data.
- One email when something new fits. Buyer programs open and close. If a new one matches your profile, you get one email. No newsletters.
Questions people ask
Who buys this?
AI labs and the marketplaces that supply them. DataVendor lists private codebases, datasets, tasksets and RL environments for labs to buy. Turing buys the full operating record of companies, including ones that have closed. micro1 runs a data partnership for companies with 30 to 200 employees. Troveo and Mercor license company data from connected tools.
Does aitrainer.work see my code or data?
No. We store who you are and what you own, in the abstract: "private repos", "a 40-person SaaS that closed in 2025", which tools held the history. The buyer does its own review, under its own terms. Nothing is uploaded here.
Can I sell code from a job?
No. Employees cannot sell employer code or data. Only owners with clean rights can list, and the buyer checks rights before anything moves. Public open-source code has little value to labs.
What does it pay?
It depends on the buyer and the asset, and we do not invent numbers. DataVendor says sellers keep 80% of a sale. Turing's page says up to $1M for a company's operating record. Most individual repos do not sell at all. The ones that do have production history, dense commits, tickets and design docs.
How does aitrainer.work earn from this?
Some buyers pay us a fee when someone we sent them completes a deal. It does not change what they offer you. For buyers that do not pay us, we say so on the result page and give you the direct link anyway.
Register once, get routed to every buyer that fits
You tell us who you are and what you own. We show you the buyers that take it, with a plain line on what to expect from each, and email you once if a new program appears later. We never see, hold or transfer the data itself.
