Sell tasksets, evals and RL environments to AI labs

Agentic training runs on environments: a task, a harness, a way to score the agent. Labs buy them finished and commission them to order. If you have built one, or can, there are two ways to get paid for it.

What a sellable environment looks like

Buyers want a real task with a real grader. Software that an agent can act in, a task distribution that resembles real work, a scoring function that cannot be gamed, and enough tasks to train on rather than only evaluate. Environments wrapping a real codebase, a real tool or a domain workflow are the ones labs are short of.

Documentation and reproducibility raise the price. Setup instructions, dependency pinning, example trajectories, known failure modes. A taskset nobody else can run is hard to sell.

Toy gyms do not sell. Grid worlds, re-implementations of public benchmarks and anything built on data you do not own.

Three ways to get paid

  1. Sell what you built. DataVendor lists tasksets, RL environments and agents for labs to buy, mostly non-exclusively. Sign-up is by invite. Register here and we email the invite after a quick look. DataVendor says the seller keeps 80%.
  2. Build to a bounty. Prime Intellect pays per accepted environment built on its open verifiers library, through its Environments Hub. Direct, open to anyone, and we are not involved in it. Listed here because it is true and useful.
  3. Build on contract. Several labs and vendors hire environment and taskset builders as contractors. Those listings sit on the board under software engineering and the environment search.

Rights

You must own the environment and everything in it. If it wraps a codebase, you need the rights to that codebase. If it was built for an employer or a client, it is theirs unless they released it in writing. Employees cannot sell employer code or data.

Before you register

  • Have a GitHub link ready, even if the environment itself is private.
  • Write one line: what the agent does, how many tasks, how it is scored, what it wraps.
  • Say whether you can produce more to order. Buyers ask.
