About this role

From the Claru listing

As a Restaurant Capture contributor, you record first-person video of restaurant operations — front-of-house dining, drive-thru, line preparation, plating, and customer interactions. The footage trains AI systems used in QSR back-of-house tooling, drive-thru ordering, and restaurant inventory.

Shifts are typically 45–90 minutes spanning a meal service. We need both eat-in scenes (your perspective as a diner, including ordering and table service) and back-of-house captures when arranged with the venue.

This work pairs well with people who already work in or frequent restaurants — you blend in naturally and the recording feels invisible.

This variant is open to contributors across Latin America — Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Peru. Pay is $7/hour USD, fixed flat rate, paid via international transfer (Wise, Payoneer, or local equivalent) on a bi-weekly cadence. USD purchasing power makes this a meaningful supplemental income across the region.

Claru contractors are independent — no fixed hours, no minimum commitment. You take captures that fit your schedule and skip the ones that don't.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in one of: MX, BR, AR, etc.

Common questions

What counts as a usable capture for restaurant and QSR work?

You film front-of-house dining, drive-thru, line preparation, plating and customer interactions, recorded first-person with a phone on a head mount. On this category shifts run 45 to 90 minutes spanning a meal service, covering both eat-in scenes and back-of-house captures arranged with the venue. Claru records at 1080p in landscape with the camera at its widest zoom, angled slightly down so your hands stay in frame for most of the clip, and asks you to work normally without narrating or staging anything. The footage trains QSR back-of-house tooling, drive-thru ordering and restaurant inventory systems.

Why does this listing pay $7/hr?

Claru prices capture work by market rather than by skill, and this variant is open to contributors in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Peru. The published tiers run $5/hr across its Asian markets, $6-$7 across LATAM, $10 in Canada and $15 in the United States, for the same filming spec. Applying to a higher-paying variant from outside its listed countries will not get you that rate, so apply to the one matching where you live.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

No. Claru engages capture contributors as independent contractors with no fixed hours and no minimum commitment, so you take the captures that fit your week and skip the rest. US contributors typically run two to four captures a week.

Do I need filming or acting experience?

No. Claru wants ordinary, unstaged footage of tasks you were doing anyway, which is why it asks you not to narrate or perform for the camera. The requirement that matters is access to the setting being filmed, along with the phone and mount.

What does asynchronous AI training work mean in practice?

No set hours, no check-ins, no meetings. You log in when you want, pick up an available task, complete it, and submit; nobody is waiting on you in real time. That's different from remote employment, where you're expected online during business hours. The tradeoff: you're competing with others for available tasks, so an empty queue means there's simply nothing to do until more work is released.

Do task-based AI training roles require an interview?

Most skip a live interview entirely and gate access through an automated assessment or qualification task instead. Where we've confirmed the specific requirement for this listing, it's called out above in What We Know About This Role.

What does Generalist work look like for a Restaurant & QSR Video Capture — LATAM?

Tasks here are scoped to Generalist, not generic labeling. As a Restaurant & QSR Video Capture — LATAM, expect to draw on real domain judgment (evaluating outputs, correcting errors, or providing expert reasoning specific to Generalist) rather than following a one-size-fits-all rubric. If you don't have hands-on Generalist background, this is likely not the right listing to start with.

What specific skills does this listing call for?

AI Training and Content Review are named directly in the listing. If you don't have hands-on experience with these, expect the screening process to test for them directly rather than accepting adjacent experience as a substitute.

How much does this specific role pay?

This listing is posted at $7/hr, an hourly rate. Pay can change between when we last checked the listing and when you apply, so confirm the current number on the platform's own application page before committing time.

What happens when I click Apply on this listing?

You'll be taken to Claru's external site to complete your application there. This listing links through a referral, but the process is identical to applying directly; the link just routes you correctly. Create an account on their site and follow their onboarding steps.

Can I apply from outside MX, BR, AR and 3 other countries?

This specific role is open only to people based in MX, BR, AR, CO, CL, and PE. If you are somewhere else, applying is unlikely to lead to an offer even if you pass the assessment, because the restriction is usually about where the work can legally be contracted rather than your skills. Read the full description for any tax-residency or right-to-work caveats before you apply, since they can differ by country.

Who is behind Claru?

Claru is the contributor-facing brand of Reka AI, which collects human data for frontier AI labs across text, vision, video and robotics. Its board splits into regional video capture work and desk-based annotation and evaluation, and the apply link on this page is an affiliate link that does not change your pay or what you are offered.
