About this Role
Job Summary
We are seeking an elite Security Systems Architect to join micro1’s highly selective Super Star Program and collaborate with our customer's team. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the highest level, acting as a trusted advisor on advanced, real-world projects that demand rigorous systems thinking, sharp adversarial analysis, and impeccable judgement. You will shape the security direction for critical, interconnected systems that power our most innovative client-facing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a system-level security advisor to our core team and customer's team, driving strategic decisions across diverse, dynamic environments. Assess and model threat surfaces, vectors, and failure modes across evolving application, infrastructure, and platform ecosystems. Identify, prioritize, and communicate critical vulnerabilities, risks, and immediate security gaps using adversarial thinking and real-world impact frameworks. Participate in client calls to consult on new pipelines and guide research projects, translating ambiguous requirements into actionable security strategies. Advise on trade-offs between security posture, system performance, and business constraints under uncertainty and time pressure. Craft clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring security is embedded into decision-making processes. Lead incident response, risk triage, and vulnerability analysis efforts for high-stakes systems with real operational consequences.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Deep expertise in cybersecurity, threat modeling, incident response, security architecture, and vulnerability analysis across interconnected systems. Proven track record operating in high-risk, real-world environments where security decisions had tangible business or operational impact. Exceptional analytical judgement and the ability to prioritize threats based on true risk, not theoretical severity. Demonstrated experience with artificial intelligence, adversarial analysis, and securing multi-layered stacks (app, infra/cloud, platform). Outstanding communication skills, conveying urgency, risk, and tradeoffs to non-technical audiences and clients with clarity. Ability to make defensible decisions under uncertainty and rapidly evolving circumstances. Hands-on, systems-oriented mindset with a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience advising or working with top-tier research, consulting, or high-security engineering teams. Background in shaping security practices for AI systems, pipelines, or platforms. History of impactful contributions during incidents, breaches, or red team exercises.
Additional Context
This is not a traditional, compliance-driven security role. You will work directly with micro1’s core and customer's teams, influencing how real-world, complex systems are evaluated, secured, and improved. If you thrive only in prescriptive, tool-centric, or theoretical environments, this is not the role for you. We seek strategic operators with hands-on experience, decisive judgement, and the drive to make a significant impact where it matters most.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the others?
Global Access. Micro1 is more open to international applicants (outside the US/UK) than DataAnnotation or Outlier.
What is the catch?
Privacy. Micro1 projects often require you to install time-tracking software that takes screenshots of your desktop while you work to ensure you are actually working. If you are uncomfortable with monitoring software, this might not be for you.
Is this traditional consulting?
Not exactly. You act as a "Teacher" for advanced AI. Instead of client deliverables, you are given complex scenarios to evaluate. You grade the AI's logic, correct its hallucinations, and provide expert-level reasoning. Your job is to train the model to think like you do.
Why is the pay so high?
This role requires deep, verified expertise. General knowledge isn't enough; the model is specifically being trained on "edge cases"—the rare, difficult, or highly technical nuances that only a senior professional would know.
What is the workload like?
This is cognitive, deep work. Unlike simple data labeling, you might spend 45-60 minutes on a single task, researching citations or verifying complex calculations. Quality is prioritized over speed.
What is the interview like?
You will likely be screened by "Zara", an AI recruiter. Treat this like a real video interview—speak clearly, ensure you have good lighting, and be ready to answer technical questions verbally, as the transcript is reviewed by human managers.
