Applied AI Product Designer (US)

We are looking for an Applied AI Product Designer with 5-12 years of experience to define the next generation of Citizen's consumer mobile experience as the company rebuilds itself as an AI-native platform. You'll be the senior product designer reporting directly to the Founder and CEO, owning every screen millions of users touch, from onboarding and the map to live video, alerts, and Premium. This is a rare opportunity to invent what safety looks like on a phone when AI agents are watching the city for you. You'll bring exceptional taste, discernment, and high agency to ship category-defining work at speed, while building the design operations and agent-powered workflows that let a small team punch far above its weight.

What will you be doing?

• Own the end-to-end consumer mobile experience (iOS first, Android close behind), every flow from onboarding to live incident video, shipping high-fidelity prototypes on-device the same day, not the following week

• Design category-defining, AI-native experiences that don't exist yet: ambient notifications that show you the scene, a safety app that talks back, and interfaces that work when the phone is in your pocket

• Build and maintain Citizen's design system, type, color, motion, sound, iconography, cinematic and restrained, engineered so AI agents can produce from it reliably

• Stand up and run AI-agent-powered design operations: automated asset generation, rapid variant exploration, and prototype pipelines that replace manual production work

• Partner daily with the CEO on product direction and tightly with iOS/Android engineering, Marketing, and Real-Time Operations to ship and launch at pace
