What you'll do

  • Represent major utility clients (electric, natural gas, water, telecom) before state public utility commissions and federal agencies including FERC and the FCC
  • Draft regulatory filings, briefs, legal memoranda, and correspondence under tight turnarounds, fast, clean writing is essential
  • Handle all stages of administrative litigation from initial filing preparation through contested case hearings and agency appeals
  • Work directly with partners and clients on rate cases, business acquisitions, siting and permitting, and clean energy compliance matters
  • Advise clients on fuel supply, rate design, resource development, and regulatory compliance across Western states
  • Support utility transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and local franchising for water and gas companies

What you need

  • We need an attorney with 1, 8 years of experience in energy, utility, or regulatory law who has strong legal writing skills and a genuine interest in the energy sector. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced boutique environment with direct client contact and have a track record of producing high-quality regulatory filings and briefs under tight deadlines. Bonus points if you have FERC, state PUC, or administrative litigation experience.
