Founding Engineer (US)

We are looking for a Founding Engineer with 6-12+ years of experience to join a small, high-impact engineering team at a seed-stage fintech startup tackling insurance affordability for US homeowners. You'll be an early member of the engineering team, working alongside the CTO to drive product expansion, build for scale, and shape critical architecture decisions as the company grows toward Series A. This is a backend-heavy full-stack role (roughly 70/30 backend to frontend) where you'll ship new products end-to-end in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment. We need someone who thrives in ambiguity, is deeply product-minded, and is motivated to get things done without being asked.

What will you be doing?

• Building and shipping new product features end-to-end, primarily backend APIs, services, and data pipelines with some frontend work

• Driving product expansion, including launching the auto insurance product out of beta and integrating net-new products into the existing platform

• Making key architecture and infrastructure decisions around DevOps, scalability, and long-term system design as the third engineer on the team

• Building internal tooling to empower non-engineers to resolve issues independently and reduce engineering ticket load

• Using AI-assisted coding tools to move fast and ship across the full stack
