Founding Member of Technical Staff, Markets (US)

We are looking for a Founding Member of Technical Staff, Markets with 1, 5 years of experience to join a small, high-performance team building AI for markets at Vigil Labs. You'll be someone who doesn't just execute, you think critically, take ideas from scratch to production, and own projects end to end. We need builders with deep curiosity about markets and strong software engineering chops in Python and/or C++ who thrive in ambiguity. This is a founding-level role at a 10-person company backed by a $20M seed round from Ribbit Capital, Lux, Valor, and angels like the founders of DoorDash, Ramp, and Kalshi, with real traction through an internal 8-figure hedge fund anchored by the founder of IMC Trading.

What will you be doing?

• Take ideas from ideation to implementation to production, building and shipping projects end to end across the trading stack

• Build and extend existing systems or create entirely new ones for data pipelines, trading signals, and research infrastructure

• Develop automated execution systems and tooling that lets the team go from idea to live experiment extremely fast

• Work directly with quantitative and AI researchers on new approaches to market prediction

• Contribute across multiple domains, from trading and HFT infrastructure to security and ML, given the breadth of problems at a founding-stage team
