Founding Product Designer (US)

We are looking for a Founding Product Designer with 2, 4 years of experience to own the design language and user experience of Colare's platform from the ground up. You'll be the first dedicated design hire, reporting directly to the co-founder/co-CEO, and responsible for building a cohesive design system across a three-party platform used by recruiters, engineers, and candidates. This is a high-impact role at a pre-seed company working with marquee hardtech customers where your work will directly shape how the world's best hardware engineers are evaluated and hired. You need strong design taste, technical fluency, and the ability to ship fast in a scrappy, fast-moving environment.

What will you be doing?

• Deeply understanding the product across all three user groups (recruiters, engineers, and candidates) and identifying where the experience breaks down, not just what's broken, but where candidates struggle due to interface friction rather than question difficulty

• Establishing and enforcing a consistent design language across the entire platform, overhauling inconsistencies that have accumulated from shipping fast without a dedicated design owner

• Analyzing product data (PostHog, session recordings, analytics) to capture signals about what's working and what's not, and translating those insights into design improvements

• Working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and GTM to ensure communication and experience across all platform surfaces, from assessment flows to hiring manager dashboards

• Redesigning and building the Colare website ahead of launch, owning information architecture, visual design, and front-end implementation end to end
