About this Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with 5+ years of experience to own and evolve the internal software platform that powers portfolio monitoring, fund operations, and LP reporting at Scale Venture Partners, a $2.9B AUM venture capital firm backing companies like DocuSign, HubSpot, and BILL. This is a high-autonomy IC role where you'll work directly with investors and finance teams, shipping features end-to-end with no product manager layer in between.

What you need

Private markets domain knowledge, must have built software involving cap tables, ownership/dilution, valuations, portfolio monitoring, or LP reporting (experience at a fund, or companies like Carta, Standard Metrics, Aumni, Juniper Square, Chronograph, PitchBook, or similar)
Full-stack production experience, comfortable writing Python services, modeling data in PostgreSQL, and building React/TypeScript interfaces
Strong SQL and data modeling instincts, much of the work is deciding how messy private market data should be represented before any UI gets built
5+ years shipping production web applications (flexible for exceptional candidates, but not entry-level)
Hands-on IC who ships, this is not a management, architecture-only, or research role; you will code and deliver working software

What will you be doing?

Own and extend Scale Studio, the in-house platform for portfolio monitoring, valuations, financials tracking, and quarterly LP reporting across 70+ portfolio companies
Build automated data ingestion tooling using AI to replace manual entry of board decks, financials, and portfolio company reporting
Develop automated error resolution tools to detect and fix discrepancies when financial numbers don't tie out
Build and maintain agentic internal tools (LLM agents, custom MCPs) that let investors query portfolio and pipeline data in plain language
Work directly with investors, finance, and IR teams as your end users, gathering feedback and translating it into shipped product on a quarterly release cycle
