About this Role

We are looking for a Land Use & Zoning Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join the nationally recognized zoning and land use practice at NYC's leading real estate law firm. You'll advise developers, owners, and institutions on how the NYC Zoning Resolution applies to their sites and help get landmark projects approved across the city.

What you need

3+ years of experience interpreting and applying the NYC Zoning Resolution, at a law firm, in government, or a mix
Hands-on experience with zoning due diligence, written zoning analyses, and/or land use applications (ULURP, BSA, LPC)
Admitted to the New York Bar
Demonstrated commitment and tenure at prior firms, job hopping (moves every ~2 years without clear explanation) is a dealbreaker
NYC-specific zoning experience required; zoning work outside NYC alone does not qualify

What will you be doing?

Performing zoning due diligence on acquisitions and financings, and drafting written zoning analyses (floor area, use, bulk, height, setback)
Advising clients on development rights transactions, including air rights purchases/sales and zoning lot development agreements
Preparing and managing discretionary approval applications (ULURP, BSA variances/special permits, LPC, CEQR)
Coordinating with architects, consultants, community boards, and elected officials through public review
Working closely with the firm's transactional deal lawyers on acquisitions and development projects
