Member of Technical Staff, Head of Quality (US)

We are looking for a Head of Quality with 1, 5 years of experience to own the quality bar for every environment and dataset Plato delivers, and build the systems and team that enforce it at scale. You'll join a young, fast-moving applied research lab that turns real-world data into high-fidelity training environments for frontier AI models. This is a hands-on role: you'll be deep in the data, reviewing samples, building automated QA systems, and ensuring that what ships produces real learning signal. You'll also hire and lead the team that operates alongside your systems as Plato scales. If you care more about what a dataset teaches a model than whether it passed a checklist, this is your role.

What will you be doing?

• Reviewing and analyzing human data and environment outputs to ensure extremely high quality: expect to spend significant time looking through data hands-on

• Building automated evaluation, QA agents, and grading systems that catch reward hacking, broken verifiers, and distribution mismatches before delivery

• Defining measurable quality metrics and acceptance criteria for environments, tasks, verifiers, rewards, and datasets

• Owning delivery acceptance for engagements with frontier labs, hyperscalers, and enterprises

• Hiring, onboarding, and managing QA engineers and reviewers as the team grows
