We are looking for a Member of Technical Staff, Infrastructure with 7+ years of experience to be the second infrastructure hire at a well-funded AI research lab reinventing semiconductor chip design with frontier ML. You'll work side-by-side with the founding infra engineer, owning execution across GCP, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD, not sitting in ticket queues. This is a high-ownership builder role where you'll harden what's been built and take on net-new projects as the lab scales. We need someone who has worked at top-caliber companies, has real startup grit, and brings the kind of pre-AI engineering fundamentals that let you write and ship production code. What you will be doing

• Own and extend the full GCP footprint, compute, networking, IAM, storage, and observability, keeping infrastructure reproducible and reviewable via Terraform and/or Pulumi
• Own CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / CircleCI) end-to-end, optimizing for reliability, speed, and developer experience
• Partner with the founding infrastructure engineer to execute against the existing architecture and directly unblock ML and research workflows
• Drive operational excellence across monitoring, incident response, cost management, and security hardening, including Kubernetes environments
• Take on special projects as the company scales, new services, environments, and tooling that keep pace with a rapidly growing research team
