Product Design Engineer (US)

In legal, design determines whether an AI agent feels trustworthy, whether a user understands what it is doing, and whether complex work becomes simpler or merely more automated. Design is one of Lawtrades’ most important competitive advantages. We want this person to make Lawtrades Agent feel legible, credible, fast, and unmistakably better than generic legal software.

What You Will Own

• Customer discovery: regularly talk with legal teams and professionals, observe real workflows, identify the moments that create or destroy trust, and turn patterns into decisive product direction.

• Product judgment: frame ambiguous problems, develop a strong point of view, choose what to build and what to remove, and bring the simplest compelling experience to the team instead of waiting for a complete brief.

• Agentic UX: design how users delegate work, understand an agent’s plan and progress, review sources and citations, approve consequential actions, correct mistakes, recover from failure, and remain in control.

• Design-to-production execution: explore in Figma or code, build functional prototypes, contribute directly to the production frontend, and stay with the work through edge cases, QA, launch, and iteration.

• Customer adoption and evangelism: explain and demonstrate Lawtrades Agent to customers, learn from pilots and live use, and help sales, customer success, operations, and engineering tell one coherent product story.

• Product craft and systems: raise interaction and visual quality across the agent, marketplace, and supporting workflows; evolve the design system in both Figma and code so speed does not erode coherence.

• AI-native product development: use tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Grok, and emerging design and coding agents as part of the daily workflow, while applying human judgment to architecture, accessibility, details, and quality.
