About this Role

We are looking for a Regulatory Engineer with 2, 5 years of experience in research-heavy, detail-intensive analytical work to join Blumen's regulatory team and turn thousands of scattered government regulations into structured knowledge that powers our AI platform. You'll come from a background in law, policy, consulting, or another rigorous field and bring exceptional attention to detail, high stamina for volume work, and a genuine pull toward startups and tech. This role sits at the intersection of subject matter expertise and product, your work directly improves the system that helps energy companies and environmental consultants navigate permitting complexity 10x faster. You'll report to our Head of Product and work alongside software engineers to QA deliverables, update our regulatory database, and shape a discipline that has never existed before.

What will you be doing?

  • QA and review customer deliverables, verifying that regulatory analyses, permitting matrices, and due diligence packages are accurate, well-cited, and high quality before they reach clients.

  • Research and structure federal, state, and local regulations, ordinances, and permit requirements into our proprietary regulatory database.

  • Review AI-generated outputs line by line, catch subtle errors or missing context, and feed learnings back into the system to improve accuracy.

  • Write and refine prompts and decision logic that pair the correct geospatial datasets with the right regulatory triggers.

  • Collaborate with product and engineering to scope improvements, translating your subject matter expertise into system-level enhancements that compound over time.
