Sr. Engineering Manager (US)

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager with 10+ years of experience to serve as a hands-on player-coach leading one of Additive AI's core engineering teams. You'll manage a team of 4, 7 senior, staff, and principal-level engineers, contributing directly to the codebase while scaling the team over the coming year. Additive, now part of Thomson Reuters, builds AI-powered tools that turn complex tax documents into trustworthy structured data, used daily by the biggest accounting firms in the country. This is a rare opportunity to combine startup speed with enterprise scale, reporting directly to the CTO and co-founder. What will you be doing?

• Directly managing 4, 7 engineers (scaling to 10, 12) at the staff and principal level while staying an active technical contributor, writing code, reviewing designs, and debugging hard problems weekly

• Shipping customer-facing, eval-driven AI products that turn unstructured tax documents into reliable structured data for enterprise customers

• Developing exceptional engineers through direct feedback, coaching technical and product judgment, and growing future leaders on the team

• Owning hiring, onboarding, and team growth as the team scales, building a high-talent-density engineering org from the ground up

• Connecting engineering decisions to real business outcomes, working closely with tax professionals and customer-facing teams to make sound product calls with startup urgency
