Staff Product Designer (US)

What you'll do

• Own all product design at Alta, from concept to pixel-perfect execution, as the founding designer shaping how millions of users interact with AI shopping
• Design beautiful, snappy mobile flows with moments of delight including animations, transitions, and micro-interactions that make the app feel premium
• Work closely with the CEO, CTO, and engineering team through daily standups, whiteboarding sessions, and Figma-to-engineering handoffs
• Shape product strategy and roadmap decisions with strong design conviction, solving ambiguous problems at the frontier of AI + consumer experience
• Design gamification mechanics, user engagement loops, and social features that drive retention and growth to the next 10-100M users
• Build and maintain Alta's design system from scratch, establishing the visual language and brand aesthetic for the product
• Collaborate with marketing on design assets, graphics, and visual storytelling that reflects Alta's premium brand positioning
• Incorporate user feedback from Alta's community to continuously improve the product experience

What you need

• We need a seasoned consumer mobile product designer with 4+ years of experience who has shipped beautiful, polished apps that real users love. You should be comfortable operating as the sole designer in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment and have a track record of designing delightful consumer experiences that drive engagement and retention. Bonus points if you've designed AI-powered features or worked on products involving gamification, social features, or lifestyle/shopping experiences.
