About this Role
We are looking for a Senior Tax Attorney or Junior Tax Partner with 5+ years of experience to join Falcon Rappaport & Berkman LLP's Tax & Private Client practice and work directly with one of the top tax attorneys in the country. This is a fully remote role with a highly competitive compensation package and only 1,650 billable hours per year, well below the industry standard of 2,000+.
What you need
- 5+ years of dedicated tax experience (Senior Associate track) or 7-8+ years (Junior Partner track), must be substantive tax work, not just wills/trusts/estate planning
- Licensed attorney; NY bar preferred but open to candidates barred elsewhere who are willing to obtain NY bar admission
- Strong technical depth in real estate tax, 1031 exchanges, trust/estate taxation, and pass-through entity taxation
- Stable work history, no frequent short stints (1-2 years) without clear justification
- CPA designation is a strong plus but not required
What will you be doing?
Handle sophisticated tax matters including real estate tax, Section 1031 exchanges, taxation of trusts and estates, and pass-through entities
Conduct heavy, in-depth tax research across complex and novel tax issues
Draft IRS Circular 230-compliant tax opinions
Take complex matters off the practice chair's plate and manage client relationships independently
Collaborate across 23 practice areas within an entrepreneurial, full-service law firm
