About this Role
About Turing: Based in San Francisco, California, Turing is the world’s leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Turing supports customers in two ways: first, by accelerating frontier research with high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, plus top AI researchers who specialize in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents; and second, by applying that expertise to help enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence with systems that perform reliably, deliver measurable impact, and drive lasting results on the P&L.
Role Overview
We are looking for highly observant, detail-driven AI Data Trainers to support a high-impact project evaluating Gemini’s next-generation personalization capabilities. This work sits at the intersection of AI, health data, user behavior, and digital wellness.
In this role, you will test how well AI can responsibly use private personal data from sources like Gmail, Google Photos, Google Search, YouTube, Google Health, and wearable devices to deliver experiences that are relevant, timely, accurate, and safe.
This opportunity is especially exciting for people with a strong interest in:
Fitness tracking and performance Nutrition and healthy lifestyle coaching Habit-building and wellness routines Health-tech products and wearables Personalized user experiences powered by AI
Key Responsibilities
Conduct multi-turn conversations with Gemini and compare model variants to assess response quality, tone, and contextual understanding. Evaluate outputs for grounding, personalization, safety, and accuracy, ensuring the model uses personal data correctly without hallucinations or privacy risks. Test predefined Health & Wellness scenarios involving wearables, physical activity, and nutrition-related queries. Provide clear qualitative feedback and debug notes by identifying reasoning gaps, retrieval issues, and why one response performs better than another.
Requirements & Eligibility
Age & Eligibility
Must be 18+ years old and authorized to participate in data training projects. Regional Availability Must be located in and/or operate using en-US or en-IN language settings to ensure cultural and linguistic nuance. Google Account Standards Strict Requirement: You must use your primary, daily-use personal Google account. We cannot accept testing or "dummy" accounts, as the model requires a rich, historical data footprint (Gmail, Photos, etc.) to perform personalization evaluations. Hardware Ecosystem Must possess and actively use a Fitbit device or Pixel Watch. This hardware is a mandatory prerequisite for the "Health & Wellness" integration testing.
Offer Details:
Commitments Required: at least 4 hours per day and upto 40 hours per week with 4 hours of overlap with PST. Engagement type: Contractor Engagement Length: 10 weeks
Evaluation Process -
Shortlisted candidates will be sent a Job Interest Form. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to discuss the pre‑onboarding requirements.

- Must be eligible to work in USA
- Fluent proficiency in English (Written & Verbal)
- Reliable high-speed internet connection

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a software engineer?
Not anymore. Turing built its reputation matching senior engineers with Silicon Valley companies, but they have heavily pivoted into AGI infrastructure. They now hire non-engineering domain experts, technical writers, and researchers for post-training data annotation and RLHF. A strong analytical background and excellent English are required, but you do not need to code.
How does matching work?
Turing calls it the 'Intelligent Talent Cloud.' You build a profile and go through deep vetting — automated tests, an AI-powered interview, and practical skill assessments. Once vetted, Turing's algorithm automatically surfaces you to partner companies (Fortune 500s and top AI labs). You don't browse job boards or bid on work — matches come to you.
How does payment work?
You are hired as an independent contractor, responsible for your own local taxes. Turing collects payment from the client and pays you monthly in USD via Deel, Payoneer, or direct bank/wire transfer. Monthly pay is standard for long-term contract roles — if you need weekly cash flow, this structure requires adjustment.
Is this traditional consulting?
Not exactly. You act as a "Teacher" for advanced AI. Instead of client deliverables, you are given complex scenarios to evaluate. You grade the AI's logic, correct its hallucinations, and provide expert-level reasoning. Your job is to train the model to think like you do.
Why is the pay so high?
This role requires deep, verified expertise. General knowledge isn't enough; the model is specifically being trained on "edge cases"—the rare, difficult, or highly technical nuances that only a senior professional would know.
What is the workload like?
This is cognitive, deep work. Unlike simple data labeling, you might spend 45-60 minutes on a single task, researching citations or verifying complex calculations. Quality is prioritized over speed.
