We're looking for experienced freelance writers to contribute content and evaluate AI-generated writing as part of an ongoing expert network engagement.
We're looking for writers with a track record of producing published, polished content across articles, essays, blog posts, or long-form features. You understand what makes writing compelling, accurate, and well-structured — and you can articulate that judgment clearly in writing.
You'll work on tasks such as producing original content pieces, evaluating and rating AI-generated articles and essays, identifying factual errors or tone inconsistencies, providing editorial feedback, and comparing AI writing quality against professional standards.
Compensation: $35/hour
Commitment: Flexible — work as much or as little as you like
Location: Fully remote — work on your own schedule

Work takes three forms: paid consulting engagements (multi-week), 30–60 minute advisory calls, and targeted research surveys.
Do I need to constantly apply for projects?
No. Once your profile is live, Ethos's AI automatically matches you to inbound opportunities based on your career history. Companies find you — you don't hunt for listings. Your Expert Score rises with each completed engagement, which unlocks higher-value inbound over time. Ethos already works with 25+ private equity firms, hedge funds, and consultancies, so deal flow is real.
When and how do I get paid?
Payment is processed within 30 days of submitting your invoice after a project closes. This net-30 schedule is standard for enterprise expert networks but slower than weekly-paying AI platforms. Plan your cash flow accordingly — this is not a 'get paid Friday' setup.
What equipment do I need?
For voice or audio roles at this pay level, you typically need a professional home studio setup (XLR microphone, treated room). Phone recordings or laptop mics are usually rejected by quality control.
How is my work used?
You are providing high-quality "ground truth" data. For writers, this means creative generation. For voice actors, it often means training Text-to-Speech models. Be sure to check the specific contract details regarding rights usage for your voice or likeness.
Is creative freedom allowed?
Yes and no. While you are hired for your talent, you must often follow strict style guides (e.g., "Speak in a neutral tone" or "Write in the style of a technical manual"). The goal is consistency for the dataset.
