What to Expect

Investment banking evaluation tasks focus on M&A analysis, corporate valuation, deal structuring, and capital markets transactions. You'll assess whether AI-generated comparable company analyses use appropriate peer selection and valuation multiples, whether DCF models apply reasonable WACC and terminal growth assumptions, and whether M&A deal rationale is financially coherent. Tasks often present a transaction scenario with an AI-generated fairness analysis and ask you to evaluate its rigor. AI investment banking outputs frequently get the mechanics right but make strategically naive assumptions about synergies, deal premiums, or market conditions. Background in investment banking (analyst or associate level minimum), corporate finance, or M&A advisory is the standard qualification. CFA or MBA from a target school is common among task reviewers.
