What you'll do

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in legal work. As a Law Expert, you'll design realistic, end-to-end legal workflows that today's best models still struggle with, then grade how agents handle them. Expect to build scenarios across contract and commercial work (drafting MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, DPAs; redlining; playbook comparisons; contract abstraction; obligation extraction), compliance and regulatory (policy drafting, regulatory change monitoring, training materials, risk assessments, privacy impact assessments), procurement and vendor (vendor due diligence, supplier contract review, SOW negotiation support, procurement policy enforcement), and litigation and disputes (document review, privilege logging, case research, memo drafting, deposition prep, discovery responses). These scenarios will be challenging and take long sessions of focus.

Who we're looking for JD required; 3+ years practicing in contract, commercial, compliance, regulatory, procurement, or litigation (in-house counsel, law firm, or equivalent) Working fluency in at least two of: contract drafting and redlining, regulatory analysis, compliance program design, procurement workflows, discovery and document review, risk assessment Comfortable reading and producing legal artifacts: contracts, diligence reports, compliance memos, privilege logs, policy documents Clear written communication; able to articulate legal reasoning step by step Drawn to long-horizon, challenging problem sets rather than one-off microtasks Compensation $85–$135/hr depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors are promoted based on task quality and throughput. • JD required; 3+ years practicing in contract, commercial, compliance, regulatory, procurement, or litigation (in-house counsel, law firm, or equivalent)
