Job Summary: In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Source and provide eligible finance transaction documents, such as Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs), Sell-Side Information Memoranda (SIMs), Investment Committee Memos, Share Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Private Equity board decks, Private Placement Memoranda (PPMs), management presentations, and related deal materials. • Validate and confirm that all provided documents are free from confidentiality agreements, NDA protections, material non-public information (MNPI), or proprietary restrictions, ensuring legal eligibility for use. • Log detailed document metadata, including transaction type, industry, deal structure, and origin, to maintain robust traceability and compliance. • Classify documents according to transaction structure and financial context. • Work closely with compliance and operations teams to uphold sourcing standards, clarify eligibility, and support seamless document submission workflows. • Exercise careful judgment in differentiating public and restricted financial information. • Engage in professional, document-driven communication and negotiation regarding document availability, eligibility, and compensation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in private equity, investment banking, M&A, capital markets, transaction advisory, corporate development, due diligence, or related finance roles. • Hands-on familiarity with a wide variety of transaction documentation, acquired through real-world deal execution or financial advisory functions. • Expert ability to identify legally shareable materials and distinguish them from materials subject to confidential, NDA, or MNPI restrictions. • Superior attention to detail when reviewing, validating, and classifying financial documents. • Strong organizational skills for managing document tracking, metadata logging, and maintaining precise submission records. • Comfortable operating independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment where requirements may rapidly evolve. • Commitment and ability to provide only eligible, compliant transaction documents for AI training use.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience at private equity firms, investment banks, Big 4 advisory, corporate development, restructuring, leveraged finance, or similar deal-centric organizations. • Familiarity with sourcing documents from SEC EDGAR, M&A filings, investor relations portals, bankruptcy courts, or licensed financial data providers. • Experience managing document-intensive workflows within financial institutions, advisory firms, law practices, or alternative asset managers.
Additional Info
This role is document-driven and centers on the provision of eligible transaction materials. You will be directly responsible for sourcing and supplying the documents. No confidential, NDA-protected, proprietary, or MNPI content can be accepted. Examples of eligible documents may include older transaction materials no longer under restriction, publicly filed documents, redacted materials, internal training/sample documents, or public investor presentations.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the others?
Global Access. Micro1 is more open to international applicants (outside the US/UK) than DataAnnotation or Outlier.
What is the catch?
Privacy. Micro1 projects often require you to install time-tracking software that takes screenshots of your desktop while you work to ensure you are actually working. If you are uncomfortable with monitoring software, this might not be for you.
Is this traditional consulting?
Not exactly. You act as a "Teacher" for advanced AI. Instead of client deliverables, you are given complex scenarios to evaluate. You grade the AI's logic, correct its hallucinations, and provide expert-level reasoning. Your job is to train the model to think like you do.
Why is the pay so high?
This role requires deep, verified expertise. General knowledge isn't enough; the model is specifically being trained on "edge cases"—the rare, difficult, or highly technical nuances that only a senior professional would know.
What is the workload like?
This is cognitive, deep work. Unlike simple data labeling, you might spend 45-60 minutes on a single task, researching citations or verifying complex calculations. Quality is prioritized over speed.
What is the interview like?
You will likely be screened by "Zara", an AI recruiter. Treat this like a real video interview—speak clearly, ensure you have good lighting, and be ready to answer technical questions verbally, as the transcript is reviewed by human managers.
