What to Expect

Philosophy and ethics evaluation demands rigorous logical assessment and command of the Western and non-Western philosophical traditions. Tasks present AI-generated philosophical arguments and ask you to evaluate their logical validity (does the conclusion follow from the premises?), soundness (are the premises actually true?), and whether the argument engages honestly with standard objections. Ethics tasks assess whether AI moral reasoning applies ethical frameworks (consequentialism, deontology, virtue ethics, care ethics) accurately and whether it handles moral dilemmas with appropriate nuance rather than false certainty. Applied ethics tasks—AI ethics, bioethics, business ethics—are increasingly common. You'll need to write substantive, precise critiques. PhD in philosophy or ethics background, or senior-level work in applied ethics, is the typical qualification.
