About this Role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager with 2+ years of experience in the events, nightlife, or entertainment space to use your existing network of venues, promoters, and organizers and turn those relationships into signed accounts for Pear. This is a role for someone who already knows the players in local events and nightlife, not someone who needs to build a Rolodex from scratch.
What will you be doing?
Tap into your existing network of event organizers, venue operators, promoters, and DJs to generate warm leads and close new accounts
Run demos, pitch the product, and negotiate deal terms (fee splits, guarantees, exclusivity) end to end
Turn every signed client into a referral source, deliberately building and expanding your network beyond your initial contacts
Fill gaps with outbound prospecting (cold intros, DMs) once warm leads are worked, but this is secondary to your network
Stay hands-on after close, support onboarding and occasionally show up at a client's first event to build the relationship
What you need
- An existing, active network in events/nightlife, you should be able to name 10, 20 people you'd call on day one (venues, promoters, organizers, DJs, collectives)
- Direct, personal relationships with business owners or decision-makers, not "friend of a friend" connections
- Proven ability to close deals on calls and negotiate commercial terms confidently
- Articulate, polished communicator who can pitch comfortably to new prospects without nervousness
- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment with minimal process, this is not a structured corporate sales seat
