About Vetto
Vetto is a tech company focused on building and scaling high-quality datasets for artificial intelligence systems. We work at the intersection of human expertise and AI, ensuring that models are trained on technically accurate, well-defined, and realistic data. Our projects support the training and evaluation of Large Language Models (LLMs), where technical rigor and correctness are non-negotiable.
About the Project
This project focuses on the technical review and validation of coding tasks used to train AI models. Coding challenges are generated automatically by AI, and your role is to evaluate quality of the challenge. The core questions you will be answering on every task: Are the requirements well defined? Are the associated tests correctly validating the requirements? Tests are treated as the mechanism of truth in this context. Mistakes here propagate at scale into AI systems — error criticality is high.
Languages
Tasks in this project involve code written across multiple languages. You will be expected to review and evaluate tasks in any of the following: Python JavaScript / TypeScript Go Rust Java
Responsibilities
Evaluate whether the coding task itself is clearly and correctly defined Validate whether tests accurately reflect whether the problem has been solved Determine whether a solution that passes the tests genuinely solves the underlying problem Apply strict technical criteria and quality standards consistently across tasks
Required Profile
This role is designed for mid/senior-level software engineers with real professional experience. Technical requirements Proven professional experience in software development (production environments) Experience reviewing and evaluating code written by other engineers Solid understanding of automated testing — how tests validate (or fail to validate) behavior Experience contributing to or working with open source projects High attention to detail and strong technical judgment Comfortable working fully in English (reading and writing) Nice to have Experience with test-driven development (TDD) or test design Familiarity with large or complex codebases
Project Details
This is expert, task-based technical work focused on analysis, validation, and judgment — not code production.
Selection Process
The selection process is fully asynchronous and consists of two phases: Phase 1 — Application Submit your profile through the application form. We evaluate candidates based on their professional background, open source contributions, and screening responses. There are no interviews. Phase 2 — Technical Exercise Shortlisted candidates will receive a short technical exercise consisting of real coding tasks in the languages they selected. The exercise simulates the actual work: you will review generated code and assess whether it correctly solves the problem and whether the associated tests are valid. Performance on this exercise is the primary selection criterion. Candidates who pass both phases will be onboarded directly into the project.
This role is not about writing more code. It is about technical judgment, rigor, and responsibility. If you are comfortable challenging problem definitions, questioning tests that "pass but are wrong", and acting as a technical quality gate — this project is for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What credentials does Vetto require?
It varies by project: legal roles need verifiable bar admission or equivalent, finance roles look for a CFA, CPA, or senior-level experience, and healthcare roles require clinical licensure. Software and tech projects are more flexible if you can demonstrate real professional experience. The selection assessment is the actual gate. Pass it and a formal credential usually becomes secondary.
How does Vetto's per-task pay compare to an hourly rate?
Each opportunity lists a task price and estimated completion time that works out to roughly $30-100/hr for an average worker. Work faster than the estimate and your effective rate goes up; hit a task that's more complex than expected and it drops. Track your actual time on the first few tasks before committing to a full project.
What is Vetto's selection assessment like?
Each opportunity runs its own assessment designed to mirror the real work: legal reasoning for law roles, financial analysis for finance, code review for engineering. There's no published pass rate, and failing one project's assessment doesn't block you from others, so if you're rejected, look at the other open opportunities that match your strongest credentials.
Is AI training work the same as traditional consulting?
No. Instead of client deliverables, you're given complex scenarios to evaluate: grading the AI's logic, correcting its hallucinations, and supplying expert-level reasoning it doesn't have on its own. The job is closer to teaching than consulting.
Why do these AI training roles pay so much?
Because general knowledge isn't what's being tested. The model already knows the basics; what it needs is expertise on edge cases, the rare, difficult, highly technical judgment calls only a senior professional in the field would make correctly.
What does the day-to-day workload look like for elite-expert AI training roles?
Slow and deep, not fast and repetitive. A single task can take 45-60 minutes of researching citations or verifying complex calculations. Quality is what's being measured here, not throughput.
What does Software Engineering work look like for a Senior Software Code Reviewer?
Tasks here are scoped to Software Engineering, not generic labeling. As a Senior Software Code Reviewer, expect to draw on real domain judgment (evaluating outputs, correcting errors, or providing expert reasoning specific to Software Engineering) rather than following a one-size-fits-all rubric. If you don't have hands-on Software Engineering background, this is likely not the right listing to start with.
Do I need to be fluent in English?
Yes. This role specifically requires English proficiency. You will likely be evaluated on written fluency during the assessment, not just conversational level. If English is not your first language or you are not professionally fluent, this is not the right role. Filter for your native language to find better-matched listings.
What happens when I click Apply on this listing?
You'll be taken to Vetto's external site to complete your application there. This listing links through a referral, but the process is identical to applying directly; the link just routes you correctly. Create an account on their site and follow their onboarding steps.
Is there an interview?
No. no interviews.
