Step 1: Create your account and profile
Sign up at sme.careers and build a profile with your background, skills, education, languages and resume. The more specific it is, the more projects you can be matched to. Apply from a specific listing so the Job Reference ID is attached; applying through the general form can leave you in the pool with no project to interview for.
Step 2: AI video interview (about 15 minutes)
Every role starts with a video interview run by an AI interviewer. It opens with a warm-up question, then asks questions tailored to the role. It waits about five seconds after you stop talking before it responds, so leave the silence alone.
Use a desktop browser with a working camera and microphone, sit somewhere quiet, and wear headphones if you have them. The interview is in English even for non-English roles. Do not use search, chat tools or notes; the platform checks for them and disqualifies the application. If you do not know an answer, say so and move on, which scores better than guessing.
Step 3: Qualification exam (some roles)
Some roles add a written or video exam after the interview, testing accuracy, domain reasoning and how closely you follow instructions.
