What to Expect

Literature evaluation tasks ask you to assess AI textual analysis for interpretive depth, accuracy, and engagement with literary craft. You'll evaluate whether AI correctly identifies narrative perspective and its effects, whether thematic analysis moves beyond surface plot summary, and whether close reading tasks attend to specific language choices (diction, syntax, imagery, tone). Tasks frequently test knowledge of literary movements—modernism, postcolonialism, magical realism—and whether AI situates texts correctly within their historical and cultural moment. Some tasks present AI-generated essays on canonical works and ask you to assess their argumentation and evidence quality. Background in English literature, comparative literature, or literary theory is expected. Breadth across periods and traditions is an advantage.
