What to Expect

Korean language evaluation tasks focus on honorific system accuracy, natural agglutinative morphology, and authentic contemporary Korean expression. The Korean speech level system (formal polite, informal polite, plain, intimate, formal) is the most common AI failure point—AI frequently applies the wrong speech level for the social relationship and context described. Verb ending selection across speech levels, subject and object honorific markers (께서, 께), and appropriate humble versus neutral vocabulary are the core evaluation areas. Tasks also assess whether AI Korean sounds natural to contemporary speakers versus overly formal or translated-sounding. Audio tasks involve recording in natural Korean speech. Native speaker or C2-level fluency with strong awareness of speech level conventions is required.
