Management Consulting Expert

Role Overview

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to engage experienced management consultants to improve AI systems' reasoning around business strategy, organizational design, and executive decision-making. Contributors will apply their expertise in areas such as corporate strategy, operations improvement, due diligence, org transformation, and growth planning to evaluate and enhance AI performance on consulting-specific tasks. This is a project-based opportunity with potential for ongoing engagement depending on performance and project needs.

Key Responsibilities

Review and evaluate AI-generated outputs related to strategic frameworks, market sizing, competitive analysis, operational diagnostics, and executive recommendations

Create realistic scenarios based on consulting workflows — case interviews, client workshops, hypothesis-driven analyses, workstream planning, and steering committee presentations

Annotate, label, and validate data across management consulting use cases (e.g., market entry, cost transformation, post-merger integration, org redesign)

Provide structured feedback on AI accuracy in areas such as strategy frameworks (Porter's, MECE structuring, issue trees), financial analysis, and executive communication standards

Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks for business strategy AI

Ideal Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience at a management consulting firm (MBB, Big 4 advisory, Tier 2, or boutique strategy firm)

Background in one or more areas such as:

Corporate strategy and growth advisory

Operations and supply chain consulting

Organizational design and change management

M&A due diligence and post-merger integration

Public sector and social impact consulting

MBA or advanced degree a plus

Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and ability to translate consulting workflows into evaluation tasks

Clear written communication and attention to detail
