What to Expect

Geology tasks evaluate AI knowledge of Earth's physical processes—plate tectonics, rock cycle dynamics, mineral formation, seismic activity, and stratigraphic interpretation. You'll verify whether AI correctly identifies rock types from descriptions, accurately explains volcanic formation mechanisms, or properly interprets sedimentary sequences. Geomorphology and hydrogeology tasks appear alongside petrology and mineralogy. Some tasks involve evaluating AI descriptions of geological hazards (landslides, liquefaction, fault activity) for accuracy and appropriate risk framing. Field geology experience is valuable because AI descriptions of real-world geology often lack the practical nuance that only comes from working in the field. Academic background in geology or earth sciences is expected.
