Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pay tax on AI training income in Nepal?
Yes. Freelance income from foreign platforms must be declared to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD Nepal) on your annual return.
How do I get paid?
PayPal doesn't support receiving personal payments in Nepal. Payoneer routed through a local bank account is the standard approach, and Nepal Rastra Bank regulations apply to foreign currency received this way.
Do I need to register a business to start?
Not to apply or pass an assessment. Registration requirements scale up once you're invoicing regularly as a formal business.
Is remote AI training work legit for people in Nepal?
Yes. Platforms including SME Careers and Turing hire Nepal-based contractors directly.
What skills are most in demand from Nepal-based applicants?
Nepali-language evaluation has its own small queue, alongside general reasoning, writing, and coding review work.
How many Nepal AI training jobs are open right now?
This page is showing 711 listings open to contractors in Nepal, sourced from 6 platforms: Micro1 (325), Ethos (238), Turing (144), Meridial (2) and Terac (1). The most recent one was picked up today. The count moves as platforms post and close roles, so treat it as a snapshot of today rather than a fixed figure.
What do Nepal AI training jobs pay?
Most sit between $65 and $100 an hour, with a median of $75, measured across the 513 listings on this page that quote an hourly rate. The highest rate currently posted here is $400 an hour. These are the figures the platforms published, not our estimates, and the rate you are offered depends on how you do in that platform's assessment.
Are Nepal roles paid hourly or per task?
Both appear here. 49 listings pay per task or per project rather than by the hour, and the rest quote an hourly rate. Per-task work suits people who are fast and accurate, since your effective hourly rate depends on how long each unit takes you.
