What to Expect
Slovenia-based professionals access AI training opportunities through Slovenian language evaluation, technical roles, and Central European content expertise. Slovenian language evaluation is specialized and well-compensated, Slovenian's unique grammatical dual number (rare in European languages), complex case system, and status as a smaller language mean AI Slovenian quality is often poor and expert review is specifically sought. Ljubljana and regional dialect voice recordings appear in speech tasks. Slovenia's strong technical education tradition creates alignment with engineering and software evaluation roles. CET/CEST (UTC+1/+2) time zone gives excellent European coverage. SEPA bank transfer and Payoneer are standard payment methods. Slovenia's s.p. (samostojni podjetnik, sole trader) framework is the standard structure for freelance contractor work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pay tax on AI training income in Slovenia?
Yes. Freelance income from foreign platforms must be declared to FURS (the Financial Administration) on your annual return.
Do I need to register an s.p. to start?
Not to apply or pass an assessment. Once invoicing regularly, register through the AJPES/eVEM online portal. If you already have full-time employment, look into "popoldanski s.p." (literally "afternoon s.p.") status. It's specifically designed for side-business income and carries lower mandatory contributions than a full-time sole-trader registration.
How do I get paid?
SEPA euro transfers work directly since Slovenia is in the eurozone. Wise is the better option only when a platform pays in USD first.
Is remote AI training work legit for people in Slovenia?
Yes. Platforms including SME Careers and Turing hire Slovenia-based contractors directly.
What skills are most in demand from Slovenia-based applicants?
Slovenian-language evaluation is a small but real niche; general reasoning, writing, and coding review work makes up most of the available volume.
How many Slovenia AI training jobs are open right now?
This page is showing 929 listings open to contractors in Slovenia, sourced from 6 platforms: Micro1 (325), Ethos (238), SME Careers (218), Turing (146) and AfterQuery (1). The most recent one was picked up today. The count moves as platforms post and close roles, so treat it as a snapshot of today rather than a fixed figure.
What do Slovenia AI training jobs pay?
Most sit between $66 and $100 an hour, with a median of $75, measured across the 510 listings on this page that quote an hourly rate. The highest rate currently posted here is $400 an hour. These are the figures the platforms published, not our estimates, and the rate you are offered depends on how you do in that platform's assessment.
Are Slovenia roles paid hourly or per task?
Both appear here. 50 listings pay per task or per project rather than by the hour, and the rest quote an hourly rate. Per-task work suits people who are fast and accurate, since your effective hourly rate depends on how long each unit takes you.
