What to Expect

Urban planning evaluation tasks assess AI reasoning about land use, transportation systems, housing policy, community development, and urban infrastructure. You'll evaluate whether AI zoning analyses correctly apply planning codes, whether transportation demand modeling approaches are methodologically sound, and whether housing policy recommendations address supply constraints and equity considerations. Tasks frequently involve assessing AI-generated environmental impact assessments for completeness and whether community engagement processes are appropriately designed. AI urban planning outputs often prioritize technical optimization at the expense of social equity and community context—identifying that gap is a core evaluation skill. Background in urban planning, architecture, public policy, or city government is the standard qualification. AICP certification is a strong credential for these roles.
