Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to register as self-employed with Revenue?
It depends on your other income. If you're a PAYE employee and this work brings in under €5,000 net a year, you can declare it through myAccount without registering for self-assessment. Above that, or with no PAYE job, register for income tax self-assessment with Revenue and file a Form 11.
How do I get paid?
PayPal, Wise, and direct bank transfer are the standard options. Payments usually arrive in USD and convert to EUR, so compare conversion fees across payout methods before picking one.
What do I need to sign up?
A bank account or PayPal/Wise account and photo ID for identity checks. Some listings ask for a resume or a short assessment. Revenue needs your PPS number, but platforms rarely do.
Is remote AI training work legit for people in Ireland?
Yes. Turing, Mindrift, Mercor, SME Careers, and micro1 all have roles open to Irish contractors. Apply through the platform's own site and never pay a fee to start.
What skills are most in demand from Ireland-based applicants?
Coding review and general writing and reasoning tasks are the steadiest. Listings also include Irish-accent voice recording and Irish Gaelic language specialist roles, which need native speakers.
Can I do this alongside PAYE employment?
Usually yes. PAYE only covers your salary, so this income needs declaring separately, through myAccount if it stays under €5,000 net. Check your employment contract for any clause on outside work first.

What do Ireland AI training jobs pay?

These are the figures the platforms published, not our estimates, and the rate you are offered depends on how you do in that platform's assessment.
